Amaterra, Trelawny Parish, Jamaica
Amaterra is an approximate 1,000 acre tract of beachfront land located in the Trelawny Parish on Jamaica’s northern coast – approximately 10 kilometers to the east of Montego Bay. The site has mountainous cliffs, flat areas for development, and gorgeous beaches – with shallow and protected waters.
TLDI has partnered with the Russell Family (the local Jamaican landowner) to develop Amaterra, beginning with the first 800 rooms on the H1 parcel which will be branded and operated by Marriott as one of its first newbuild beachfront all-inclusive resorts in the world.
The April 2019 groundbreaking event for the H1 Marriott project was well-attended by numerous dignitaries, including the Prime Minister of Jamaica, The Most Honourable Andrew Michael Holness. Since this event, our development consortium finalized a operating/branding relationship with Marriott for the H1 parcel, submitted detailed planning drawings for final construction permits, and finalized site preparation (including filling of building pads and extension of power supply to the property). Vertical construction of the Marriott will commence in late 2020.
The Amaterra team continues to master plan the next four resorts (adjacent to the Marriott), with an anticipated groundbreaking for the next 1,200 keys in 2021.
